LRV Construction’s Multiple Building Program supports coordinated work across multiple properties in Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia, and Maryland. For organizations managing a portfolio, repeating a renovation at several addresses does not mean every location should be handled identically. The first actionable step is to divide project requirements into two groups: program standards that should remain consistent and site conditions that require individual decisions.
Create a master standards document before work begins at the first property. Record approved materials, finish expectations, quality requirements, reporting formats, approval procedures, and details intended to remain consistent across the portfolio. Then prepare a separate site sheet for each building. Include access limitations, occupancy schedules, delivery restrictions, existing conditions, building-specific scope, and decision-makers. This separation prevents individual site circumstances from quietly changing standards intended for the whole program.
Next, develop one master sequence instead of several unrelated schedules. Identify which property should begin first and use it to test assumptions that may affect later locations. Record lessons about installation time, occupant disruption, material suitability, and recurring field conditions. LRV Construction’s project management capabilities include scheduling, budgeting, coordination, and progress tracking, all useful when decisions at one location can influence several upcoming sites.
Standardize reporting as well. Each location update should show the same information, including completed work, upcoming activities, unresolved decisions, schedule concerns, and approved deviations from the program standard. When an exception is necessary, record why it was made and whether it applies only to that building. Owners can review LRV Construction’s broader commercial and multi-site experience when establishing their approach. Consistency should be intentional, but so should variation. A strong multi-property program makes it immediately clear which decisions apply everywhere and which belong to one site.
